Is It A Sign?

Believing in a world in which we cannot see touch or hear can be a very hard thing to do. We often have to rely on our faith to believe that we don’t just become ashes to ashes or dust to dust when we perish. It is very comforting to know that our loved ones are as close to us as being in the next room. Being a Medium I am always asked by people how they can know that their loved ones who have crossed over are safe and secure and still with them. Very often in a reading I will receive signals from the departed alerting me to tell their loved ones how they can know when they want to say hello. There are many ways in which the Spirit World decides to demonstrate their abilities of communication with this dimension; And you don’t have to be a professional Medium to recognize the signs that are all around us. One of the most common of the signs is lights that flicker when you walk into a room. Spirits have the ability to interfere with lights and electricity. When we shed our physical bodies through the process of physical death, our existence is made up of electromagnetic energy or pure energy. When our loved ones are around us, their strong energy field coincides with the electrical system in our homes and very often surges can result in flickering lights or blown fuses. If you find that you just purchased new light bulbs and they blow in a flash, you can definitely assume that someone is trying to send you a sign or just wanting to say hello. Besides the lights, a spirit’s energy can manipulate many electronic appliances such as computers that may freeze up or act all whacky, tv’s changing the channel or turning off for no apparent reason. Often you may hear your deceased loved one’s favorite song on the radio. Yes, you heard that right, spirits can become the DJ for a moment in time. They can place a thought in your head to turn to a specific channel on the radio when they know a specific song is playing. It seems very far fetched but I have had this very thing done to me on several occasions so I know that it can happen. Have you ever gotten the chills and it felt as if a spirit just walked through your body. Well that very well may have happened. Sometimes you are in your room, reading a book or chatting online and suddenly you feel a piercing chill that starts at the back of your neck and tingles down your spine. Often you may feel sudden goose bumps running down your arms even though it may be a very warm summer day. This strange occurrence that most people have experienced at least once in their lifetime is due to the fact that when spirit energy is present, they do not release heat. In fact they do the very opposite, they absorb the heat using it for their means of communication, moving about or sending you more signs. That is why when a spirit leaves a space; they leave cold spots in the place of where they absorbed the heat. As cliche as it sounds coins are a very big sign that the Spirit World uses to get their loved one’s attention. For me, I find dimes everywhere I go. I often find these coins in the strangest of places. It is common practice for me to carry around a pocketbook in my travels and I use a wallet to hold my money, including all coins. There is no chance that money will fall out of my pockets because, plain and simple, I just don’t hold coins there. Another logical explanation would be that my husband has holes in his pockets, and he doesn’t because believe me, I checked. It may be the case that he dropped some coins while getting undressed but why not pennies or nickels or quarters. Dimes are everywhere and I find at least ten dimes per day. I remember recently cleaning my bathroom and because I have a black granite floor, everything can easily be seen on its surface. I vacuumed and mopped the floor and then got on my hands and knees to finish with a certain tile polish that I use. I don’t have a big bathroom; it measures 10 x 10. I went over every nick and crany and not even one piece of lint was left behind. Two minutes later, I walked out of the bathroom and then back in and there was not one, not two but three dimes in the middle of the floor as if someone strategically placed them there in a row. There was absolutely no one home in the house but me and I was wearing sweat pants that had no pockets. How could this happen? I truly believe it is a sign from above. Perhaps the spirit world is not up to date with the economy and still thinks that it costs a dime for a phone call. Whatever the reason is, every time I find a dime in a random place, it puts a huge smile on my face and leaves me with a sense of happiness. Whether you find lights that flicker around you or a pile of dimes, there are still many ways in which spirits come around to give us signs. Do you know a person in your life that wears a particular perfume or uses a special shampoo? And everytime you smell that smell, you think of that person? Well your loved ones on the other side are no different. My deceased uncle smoked cigars all the time and right before I am about to see his family, cigar smoke fills up the room and has even found its way into my car. I have to stop and think why I smell cigars and naturally I realize that I will be entering the home in which he lived. My grandmother wore Jean Natee back in the day, as many grandmothers did. It is a perfume that is rarely used today and if it is, its probably used by an older person who has a bottle left over from the seventies. Whenever I smell that scent it reminds me that my Nanny is nearby. I usually just smile and say “hi Grams”. I know she hears me. There are so many other signs that you may receive from your loved ones whom have crossed into the Spirit World. They can and will use whatever tools that are available to them. Some other common resources that the Spirit World will use to get your attention is through the use of butterflys; colorful birds or just birds in general; feathers; lady bugs, just to name a few. Don't mistake these creatures as being your loved one, but do know that they can manipulate them to come into your path, especially if you ask. I hope you enjoyed this month's blog.
