I hope you all enjoyed watching "The Haunting of Carnie Wilson". It may have been apparent to you that I had a very good chemistry with Carnie from the moment I met her. It was as if two old friends reunited in one space and time for a higher purpose. The rules of the production company are that I am never allowed to speak to, or have any type of encounter with the celebrity before we start rolling tape. Of course I know Carnie Wilson if I see her, but I didn't think she knew me. Unbeknownst to me, Carnie was staying at the same hotel as the production crew and myself. While at breakfast the morning of the taping I was sitting with some crewmembers enjoying some coffee and I saw Carnie sitting across the room with her friend. Although Carnie was instructed not to speak to me, she couldn't help herself. She came over to me for a brief second and said "I know we are not supposed to meet or talk beforehand but how can I ignore you when I know it's you?" She said I just want to give you a hug and I swear I'll leave you alone until we meet again later. Her friendly smile and her warm heart had me from hello. With Carnie, what you see is what you get. This only made my job that much easier and pleasant going forward. When I heard I was going to California to meet with Carnie, it was the month of April. If it is a bit chilly in NY where I live in April, certainly it will be warm in California, right? Wrong. I woke up in Mt. Shasta, California to snow falling. From my hotel room I had a view of Mt. Shasta that was breathtaking. The tippy top of the mountain already had snow on it, but I figured it was because of the elevation. I thought that we’d be fine since our hotel was at the base of the mountain. Needless to say, we had to drive an hour and a half to the nearest mall to find Carnie and me a warm jacket or coat. This was not an easy task as California stores were getting ready for their summer season at the time. Of course, Carnie could not come with us because we are not supposed to meet or talk, so she told the production assistant what size and what color to buy and the hunt was on. We even went to thrift stores; yes we were desperate to stay warm. Eventually, I was able to find the greatest jacket and I will cherish it forever -especially since I found it in a little shop around the corner from my hotel. But, the best part about this little shopping trip was that every other store in Mt. Shasta is a metaphysical store with crystals galore and anything spiritual you can get your hands on. I was like a kid in a candy store. I stocked up on items that I use on a daily basis such as sage and crystals. This place was right up my alley. There was one thing that got my attention from the moment I woke up in Mt. Shasta and that was that I felt dizzy and couldn't shake the feeling. I later realized that there are many energy vortexes in Mt. Shasta and any person, especially someone as sensitive as I am, would feel the intense energy of these Vortexes. A vortex is a concentrated amount of the earth's energy originating from magnetic, spiritual or sometimes unknown sources. Additionally they are considered to be gateways or portals to other realms. Being in the presence of this type of energy does not happen very often but when it does, it is a special gift, especially to a Medium. Energy such as this can help re-energize one's auric field (or energy field), and to a Medium this is like plugging into an electrical outlet to recharge their battery. A free charge from Mother Earth? I’m in. This was only the beginning of my magical mystery tour. When I arrived at the recording studio where Carnie had her experience, I was met with more intense energy. I later found out that the recording studio was formerly a mortuary that housed dead bodies and secondly, it sat near a major vortex. Putting all of this together, I realized that whatever feeling one has being inside this recording studio, personally or creatively, the energy there will amp up the volume to intensify one's experience. The only other time I was around a vortex was when I went to Sedona, Arizona, but that is a story for a whole other blog. Carnie was great throughout the whole day. During the breaks in between filming, she would laugh and talk about her kids and her wonderful husband. Although I don't know Carnie personally, she made me feel as if she has no secrets and that she is a loyal person. I felt as if she was an old friend of mine and we picked up where we left off. In fact, we were finishing each other's sentences. She is comfortable with who she is and she has found self-love. Little did Carnie know, this experience she had in the recording studio years ago, would set the stage for her whole future existence of love, family and children. Kudos to Carnie for being so brave and for overcoming her personal demons. Although we are all human and all have obstacles or blockages, we can only all hope and pray that we all have help from above to fight the fight and to find our inner peace like Carnie did. Did I mention, I love my job? Namaste <3
